Paulsen: Expect Volatility in Sentiment, Markets

Wells Capital Management’s Jim Paulsen says the wide swath of opinions on the economy has created an unusual situation for investors. Usually, Paulsen says, at this point in a recovery investors are debating whether the economy will grow at 3% per year, or a bit less. Today, he says, the debate is whether it grows at 3%, or whether we enter a depression. Paulsen says that wide range of views could make interest rates and stock prices “extremely volatile” for the next year or so.
